My first trade show in the online industry and I can only say: Wow! What an event!

But first from the beginning…

“Trust in you”

A lot of self-confidence was already required at the official pre-event of DMEXCO. At the “Artefact Night” we walked the red carpet as sponsors. At this networking event in the Wolkenburg, I made new contacts, got to know existing customers personally and exchanged information with colleagues from the industry about the latest trends and news.

The motto “Trust in you” was also found on the next days of the fair. Many speakers included the topic of trust and transparency in their sessions and made recommendations for action. Start-ups in particular should have confidence in themselves, as they were able to present their products and services for the first time in the “Future Park” and the “Demo Arena”. In my opinion a cool thing!

Between high-profile speakers and the cafeteria

The trade fair days were completely scheduled for me. From appointments to lectures and back again to the cafeteria for our “Stammtisch” (regulars’ table), which is now well established and well-known among our customers. There, together with my experienced sales colleagues, I had many appointments with customers from a wide range of industries. These appointments were super exciting, because I was able to learn a lot about online marketing and also my repertoire of industry-specific buzzwords was expanded by a few terms. By the way, holding our meetings in the cafeteria has many advantages: everyone finds us – always following our nose ?

Between my appointments, I also had the opportunity to watch lectures again and again. The selection of speakers was so extensive that I often couldn’t make up my mind. High-fliers such as Jimmy Wales (Co-Founder Wikipedia), Stephanie Buscemi (CMO Salesforce), Mark D’arcy (Vice President of Global Business Marketing Facebook) or Cecile Frot-Coutaz (Head of EMEA Youtube) are just a small excerpt. Personally, I particularly enjoyed the presentations on AI and digital ethics by Stephan Noller and Sabine Sachweh. It was really impressive to see the state of the art and what innovations the future will bring us.

Prohibition ends here – but so what!

The mood and atmosphere within the entire fair, as well as during the appointments were very professional but also relaxed and pleasant. It’s crazy what’s going on in the online marketing industry. If you think the Artefact Night was already good, you haven’t experienced the booth parties and especially the OMClub in hall Tor 2. Masked people with fancy costumes, bumper cars, acrobatic women above our heads, dresses that served as champagne glass dispensers (we’ll have to remember that for the next ad pepper celebration) and party party party à la 1920s – all that was missing was swing dancing.

My conclusion: The industry knows how to party! I definitely take away very good contacts, new knowledge and unique memories.

See you next year DMEXCO!

Your Alex from the ad pepper sales team.
